Turquoise Play Furniture

My husband picked up this doll furniture at a garage sale a few years ago. I just now got around to painting them. It's too bad I don't have a girl or I would be keeping these. I think they are just darling-love the way they turned out!

Fireplace Mantle

I finally redid my mantle the way I wanted it. It was originally brown like my cabinets, but I wanted to lighten up the space so it was not so dark. I painted it the same color white as the trim throughout my house and then distressed it so the brown would show through a bit. This project has been a long time coming. I'm glad it's done!

Small Red Table

Just finished this sweet little table. It has been awhile since I have painted anything red, so it was really fun to take on this piece. It is painted Chili Pepper Red with black glaze and white primer popping through the distressed areas.

Kitchen Table

This was my first kitchen table to paint kettle black.  I have learned a lot about applying high gloss polycrilic on a large flat piece while maintaining a smooth finish. We spent a good amount of time and attention on this piece.  It was hard to let it go since it fit in quite well with my decor.  I had originally stained the distressed areas in colonial maple, but changed to dark walnut to tone down the contrast between the paint and the stain.  The photo below shows the original condition of the table.  It went through quite a transformation!

Spice Rack

Just finished this large spice rack this weekend.  My husband bought it at a garage sale in hopes that he could persuade me to use it on the back of our pantry door.  I am not really for that idea, but someone else might really be in need of it.  So, I am posting it and would be happy to sell it for $50.  It is painted high gloss kettle black.  It has walnut stain on distressed areas and a high gloss top coat.  The dimensions are 20 inches wide and 49 inches for the height.  I thought it could be used for something other than a spice rack if you wanted to be creative, but my husband insists that its true function is to serve as a spice rack.  Ah! men... they're so practical.

Cream Colored End Table

I finished this piece for a client last week.  I painted it "cream in my coffee" white and distressed it with a sander.  I finished it off with a dark walnut glaze and top coat.  This was the first time I used a stain with my glaze instead of using just black glaze.  I was really happy with the end result.  I think it looks great with the stained glass inside.

Distressed wall hanger

I have two of these distressed crown molding hangers that I am wanting to sell.  They are authentic pieces of wood complete with chipped wood and plenty of age that I put a strong protective top coat over.  They would work really well to hang Christmas decorations from, picture frames, backpacks and more.
Check on pinterest for even more fun ways to use this flea market treasure.

Two Wooden Crosses

These wooden crosses were built by my husband.   He really worked hard on these.  It is truly quite handy to have a husband who knows carpentry.  As you might imagine, I have a long list of furniture pieces for our own house that I would like him to build someday.   He used a grinder over the wood which gives it that hand carved look.  I painted one with a pale green, heavily distressed it, and stained over it with walnut stain.  The other cross was painted sky blue, heavily distressed down to the white primer, and glazed over with black.  We are happily donating the crosses to our Fall Fest auction at our church this Sunday.
